Holding Court (in a circle of friends) is another exploration into the life of a dog and his pal. Friends of dogs spend lots of time per week walking their dog and standing around at dog parks. Much deliberating and humor gets done while dogs are at play or sitting against their friend’s shoe. Stories are delivered on the field of play while butts are sniffed. A required form of relaxation when you are a friend of a dog.

The hand painted, underglaze images that you see were realized from photographs I had taken in the mid 1980’s. They are all views of San Francisco from different locations. You can see both the Golden Gate Bridge as well as the Bay Bridge. The city skyline is of that era as well. The tallest buildings being the TransAmerica Pyramid building and the Bank of America tower. I especially like the view of the ocean at the Great Highway in the afternoon sun which you can see on the back of the shirt directly above the scene of “Painted Ladies” victorian homes along Alamo Square.
